Objective
The objective of the conference is to bring together researchers of different communities (applied mathematics, biomechanics, fluid mechanics, physics) working on fundamental problems involving coupling between a fluid and a deformable body. Contributions of work in progress or completed are welcome.
Topics
Experimental, numerical and theoretical presentations will be given on the following topics:
- Aeroelasticity
- Biological internal flows
- Compliant walls
- Elasticity-capillarity coupling
- Flow-induced vibration
- Swimming/Flying
- Swimming of microorganisms
- Wind-plant interaction
Schedule
The conference will be held in Carry-le-Rouet on the seaside near Marseille, France, and will take place over four days, starting on Tuesday, 23 June 2009 and ending on Friday, 26 June 2009. It will consist of single plenary sessions with invited lectures (40 minutes) and selected oral presentations (20 minutes), with ample time outside the formal sessions for participants to meet in a convivial atmosphere.
