Objectives
The goal of this workshop is to bring together
leading experts from astrophysical and geophysical communities, in order to
discuss flows where stratification, rotation and magnetic field play an
important role. Emphasis will be put on simple models of oceans, atmosphere and
planet interiors, where basic phenomena such as waves and instabilities can be
described theoretically.
Topics
- Instabilities in stratified and rotating flows
- Wave-vortices coupling in geophysics
- Hydrodynamics of planetary cores and stars
- Waves and instabilities in accretion disks
- Generation of magnetic field by dynamos
- MHD waves in stellar systems
